Best Buy Dedicated to Customer Disservice

I have my laptop again!

As many of you know I bought a laptop from Best Buy. It quit charging after a few months and I thought it was the AC adapter. When I tried to buy one from Best Buy the fun began. They told me it was on warranty and they would send it in to Hewlett Packard. It turned out to be a lie - they sent it to their own "Geek Squad City". While in the possession of the Geeks the hard drive and the motherboard were replaced. The motherboard is debatable but HP says "there is no reason to replace a hard drive when a unit isn't charging". I think HP is wrong. The reason would be if you want the customer to pay $260 for their file recovery service which I was offered. I declined and they sent my laptop back to me. I won't bore you with the details you can read them if you click on the link in the beginning of the post.

To make a long story a little shorter. When I received the computer back it still didn't work. I called Best Buy they were rude I called HP they were nice. So without a single word to Best Buy I sent the computer to HP. The funny thing is - without a word from me, without a word from HP - Best Buy still kept up their fine customer service. They tried to sabotage my HP warranty service. HP and I both believe that someone from Best Buy read this blog. Using the very specific information I provided figured out who I was and cancelled the repair order with Hewlett Packard.

It's a shame that after what Best Best did I felt I should keep a close eye on Hewlett Packard but it saved me some trouble. HP provides customers with periodic updates during repairs so when I saw my order was cancelled,  I literally caught it within minutes and all the trouble it caused was to make a phone call which not only got my computer fixed a little faster because they felt bad about Best Buy cancelling the order, it got me some information.

I know that on August 19, 2008 at 9:21 AM Robbie Hall from Best Buy cancelled my repair order.

My new mission in life is now to find Robbie Hall.

How fun it will be when I catch Mr. Hall. When I say catch I mean by calling every Best Buy in the country until I find him. Then having a little chat with his boss. I know it would be tempting to have my U.S. Marine son deal with him but we covered that before. Of course in all truthfulness the laptop was a Christmas gift to him and his brothers so who knows if he agrees with me. Marines are odd when it comes to being wronged.

By the way if someone reads this and you know Robbie feel free to drop me an email.

I swear all the above to be the truth and I will willingly take a lie detector test, swear on a Bible or any other method of truth confirmation anyone chooses.

Best Buy is a despicable company and I will never shop there again.
